Disk Recycling

FireStation Duplication has introduced a new service: collecting CDs and DVDs for recycling. While recycling paper and plastic has become commonplace in today's society, CDs and DVDs are still tossed into landfills where their toxic chemicals pollute the land and slowly destroy the environment.

Although many people do not realize it, Compact Discs and DVDs are made of chemicals that are harmful when left sitting in a landfill for many years. These include indium, antimony, and tellurium along with polycarbonate and a dye based upon the deadly chemical cyanide.

Recently, several recycling centers have been opened around the country, which are specifically designed for the recycling of unwanted disks. Unfortunately, there are currently none in our area. Instead of tossing them into trash, FireStation Duplication will safely dispose of your scratched, damaged or unwanted disks and jewel cases for you in an environmentally friendly manner, at NO COST to you!

Although walk-ins are welcome, FireStation Duplication requests you call first to arrange a drop off. We can be found at 354 South Main Street in Akron, on the corner of Main and Exchange.
